Description: The Road Segment table describes the administration and ownership of the segment of road. It contains tabular polyline data showing the log miles/measures, road name, functional class, administrative system, government control, urban area, incorporated area, metropolitan planning area, HPMS sample ID, U.S. Routes, special systems, state designation, state aid, open/proposed/ferry status, and sub route designations for the roadway. Road names are derived from visual surveys by field crew or official GIS maps. Functional class is set by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and administrative system designation depends on the functional class.
